The Spanish club Barcelona is seeking to reward its young defender, Pau Cobarci, after his wonderful appearance with the team in matches during the recent period, and his joining the Spain national team roster, during the recent international break.
Pau Cobarci had performed well with the Catalan club during the recent period, which led to his being called up to the list of the first Spanish national football team.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano said through his official account on the “X” platform that FC Barcelona submitted a renewal offer to Pau Cobarci with a penalty clause of one billion euros.
The Italian journalist added that the duration of the contract is long and includes a large increase in his salary, because Barcelona hopes to resolve the negotiations before the end of the current season.
Cobarci, 17 years old, played 13 matches with Barça during the current season in various competitions, and made one goal in the Spanish King’s Cup.
Barcelona occupies the second place in the Spanish League table, with 64 points, 8 points behind Real Madrid, which is in the lead with 72 points.
