In a quick comparison entitled (Clacket Again), the brilliant Sudanese journalist, Al-Tayeb Abdel Majid, wrote a cursory comparison of the Egyptian drama with the Sudanese drama presented this year. Despite describing himself as a non-specialist, he provided deep criticism and guidance in an article on his Facebook page, from which we excerpt this discussion.
He pointed out the (forced) transfer of Sudanese drama to Cairo this year.
It only took the place from there and moved away from the image to go in the line of follow-up applications and social media with deliberate excitement that sometimes amounted to departing from the text in search of the viewing (counter).
He considers them as simple, immature businesses that were hastily managed with weak production and relied on dwelling on a deteriorating reality
It is true that it may exist, but it cannot and is not permissible to deal with it without a clear dramatic plot and a reasonable dramatic line, and not everything that is known can be said, as there are scenes and dialogues in some of them that are not worthy of being watched.
So the saying that the dramatic work is a reflection of reality is thus absolutely true, and I mean falsehood. Therefore, there are artistic requirements, vision, story, scenario, and dialogue ( Not forgetting cheese…and bed rest…!!
He affirmed:We will not support such drama under the pretext of encouraging it to rise.
Drama is part of an exhausted Sudan, so it became more exhausting
This time we support taking a “truce” and “a breath” and trying to learn what should be… Drama is details and details of details as the specialists know.
I am only an observer, but I certainly have an idea and knowledge…and a perception.
He clearly said, “I don’t want to change this line.”
We will applaud you whenever you regain the path.
Take advantage of this forced truce in Egypt. Egypt has a long history in drama, and it is not permissible to reduce production costs to a villa, apartment, or place that has no significance
There are women who are not fit to go public, not because they may not happen, but because they do not address anything without content, without a clear vision, and an answer to key questions (What do you want to say through scenes like this..!?
And the dialogues.!??), and if the answer is reality, drama is not its mission to convey reality in its entirety, even if it is so
As much as its mission is to dissect this reality and present it in an artistic form that makes the recipient pay attention and interact…((I repeat, my art)),
If the issue is in this understanding
Ok, this reality has good things… where are we..??,
But if you push the freedom of drama to reveal the hidden, the unspoken, and the taboos, then this has terms and conditions..!
Drama is a spectacle and entertainment…and a message, and the third is crucial
Choose from them and choose what suits and takes into account public taste
We in Sudan, for example, do not have a culture of (the bedroom) as a declared place…
Therefore, I will not turn it into a drama as well and discuss issues in it
These taboos are benign, not malicious. Leave them out of place
Your intention may be (good) to include all the details
And needs…and it may be other than that to attract an audience and views. Fortunately for you, the Sudanese recipient is busy by himself,which is scattered between the turbulent interior and the cruel exterior, and the time is war.
This is not an attack as much as it is a directive that you should accept with open arms.
We are looking forward to something the size of this country.
Sudan is a large, ancient and beautiful country. Do not reduce it to the crisis tunnel and the “blanket” of likes. The Sudanese recipient has a high degree of prudence and intelligence. Al-Jagar people are hardworking, but they need a professional production machine, many work tools, and specialist guidance.
I call on drama specialists to contribute to changing this course and to implement something scientific and practical.
Failure is not a problem, but dedication to it is a disaster. We wait for something new…and you have the honor of trying despite its misery.
