SSMO: 1,700 Bags of Spoiled Flour, Destroyed

The inspection teams of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO) Blue Nile Branch, in cooperation with the state’s General Intelligence, seized a truck carrying about 200 bags of spoiled flour. It was seized and all legal measures were taken.
The spoiled flour was destroyed by a specialized committee.
The Director of the SSMO in the Blue Nile, Al-Amin Al-Tayeb, warned the owners of flour shops, stores and bakeries of the need to pay attention to the expiration date and proper storage methods to maintain the quality of the product, stressing the continuation of cooperation with the relevant authorities to preserve the health of consumers.
And in Gedaref state
The Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO), Gedaref State Sector, destroyed quantities of expired food commodities.
Engineer Abdul-Hay Ahmed Idris, Director of Control and Inspection in the Specifications Sector in Gedaref State, revealed that the destroyed goods included 1500 bags of wheat flour weighing 50 kilograms and 6,000 bottles of carbonated water and 50 tons of food that violates specifications
Which were seized during the SSMO’s intensive monitoring campaigns in Gedaref in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
For his part, Director of Gedaref State Customs, Police Brigadier General Ibrahim Bakhit, stressed that interest in the health and safety of citizens is a matter that requires scrutiny of the implementation of laws that deter violators of health controls to ensure the handling of goods and foodstuffs.
