Khartoum Begins Rehabilitation of Service facilities

Sudan Events – Nahid Oshi
The Khartoum State government has begun making the necessary arrangements to respond to the requirements of the next phase, coupled with the increase in the safe areas.
There was a lengthy discussion about the financial requirements for the program to reconstruct service facilities in light of the financial problems facing the state after it lost its financial resources due to the war.
The meeting stressed the need for broad action and communication with the federal government, donors and organizations to help rehabilitate service facilities in the health, water and electricity sectors as well as addressing environmental problems resulting from the remnants of war.
In this context, the meeting recognized the necessity of activating communication mechanisms with localities that are still witnessing active military operations and working to respond as much as possible to the needs of citizens.
