Traditional Miners Set Conditions for Applying Increased Mining Fees

The Head of the Dalgo Market Dispute Resolution Committee, Mahdi Osman Dani, conditioned their approval to implement the increase in mining bag fees with sitting with the management of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company to regulate the issue and negotiate and dialogue to reach an agreement on it. He added, “If they refuse, we will not agree to any increase in fees.”
In his statement to (Sudan Events), Mahdi acknowledged the state’s need for support, but warned that they, as miners, were also affected by the war and events in the country.
Mahdi revealed the decline in production in mining due to the scarcity of fuel, as well as the rise in its prices, due to the decline in resources and the lack of manpower, after the “plundering” of the citizens of Khartoum and the Gezira spread with the help of the militia.
He pledged to establish the legal rights of all miners in a way that makes them support the state without struggling with them to obtain levies, adding that all of this comes within the framework of social responsibility so that the miner finds his rights because the company does not grant them their rights.
He pointed to the importance of the mineral, and said, “If the state wants to benefit from the national mineral, it must consult miner regarding mining in the fees and laws that are presented to him.”
He pointed to the rise in raw gold prices, noting that the price of a gram of gold rose from 30 thousand pounds before the war to 60-80 thousand pounds.
He stressed the cooperation and achievement of the goal of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company with regard to electronic collection, stressing their readiness as committees for this, and he believed in electronic collection because it is more secure and less expensive, in addition to the fact that it can contribute after the war to the development of mining, which is the only way to get the country out of the devastation that it witnessed as a result of the war of the militia, stressing that traditional mining is a 100% primary supporter of the state treasury, and companies take mining waste from traditional metal.
He promised the miners support for the army, serve the Sudanese cause, eliminate the militia, and expel the mercenaries from Sudan.
