Sudan Events – Agencies
The Olympic flame for this summer’s Paris Olympics was lit Tuesday in the ancient city of Olympia, Greece; The cloudy sky prevented the traditional lighting ceremony through the sun’s rays.
Instead, a spare torch was used, which had been lit the day before during rehearsal.
Greek actress Mary Mina, dressed as an ancient Greek priestess, lit the flame.
The Olympic cauldron will be lit at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games on July 26, which will continue until August 11.
