The acting governor of the North, Abdeen Awadallah, witnessed the harvesting operations of the wheat crop in the Al-Maqwadah agricultural project in Al-Golid locality.
The Northern state Governor stressed the continued efforts of the state government and its interest in developing the agricultural sector and benefiting from the great capabilities and advantages that the state possesses in the agricultural field.
He pointed out that the wheat crop is considered one of the important strategic crops on which the state relies greatly to achieve food security for the people of Sudan and reduce its import bill, especially in light of the current circumstances, adding that the Al-Maqwadah area embodied the slogan of a hand bearing arms and “A hand for protection and another for building”.
The Minister of Production and Economic Resources in the Northern State, Hussein Abdel Ghafour, confirmed that the winter season was successful and large areas of winter crops were planted, which herald high productivity, indicating that good wheat harvests in the state continued.
