Zakat Chamber launches the distribution of (300) food baskets to expatriates

At a cost amounting to 7,370,000 million pounds, the Executive Director of Shendi Locality, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, inaugurated the distribution of 300 food baskets to expatriates provided by the Zakat Chamber in Shendi Locality.

Abdel Ghaffar stressed the need to ensure that the basket reaches its beneficiaries, and appreciated the great and growing roles played by the Zakat Chamber and its support for all vulnerable groups. He also praised the efforts of the Governor of the Nile River State and the State Zakat Secretary for their unlimited support for the armed forces, support for the wounded, and shelter centers.

 

The representative of the leadership of the 3rd Infantry Division in Bashandi, Head of the Moral Guidance and Military Information Division, Colonel Hafez Fath al-Rahman, appreciated the great roles of the Zakat Chamber and its contribution to supporting expatriate families, bases, and the war-wounded, in addition to its standing by the armed forces.

The director of the Zakat Chamber in the locality, Ayoub Abdel Majid, said that the Chamber did not stand idly by after the arrival of those arriving from the war in the Shendi locality, noting that cash and in-kind support was provided at the level of all shelter centers in Shendi, and revealed that the contribution to treating the arrivals amounted to more than 10 million pounds, in addition to  Supporting the wounded in operations in the Medical Corps, 3rd Infantry Division, with an amount of 3 million pounds, in addition to distributing more than 182 million pounds during the month of Ramadan at the level of Shendi locality to 400 committees, in addition to targeting 500 families to provide Eid joy with an amount of 35 million pounds, and supporting the elderly in Shendy High School Girls Hostel, supporting them with an amount of 500 thousand pounds, and cash support for the inmates of Shendy Prison.

He emphasized that what the Chamber is doing is not harm, but rather it is from the core of its tasks and duty that religion dictates to us, so that the payer of zakat will know that the zakat of his money has been returned to the poor and needy, revealing the increase in the zakat revenues despite the war, and he attributed this to the spending carried out by the Zakat Chamber for levies in return.
