Significant Increase in Mineral Resource Revenues

During the first quarter of the current year 2024 for the traditional mining sector, the revenues of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company achieved an increase of more than 87%. It received praise because it was achieved under exceptional circumstances resulting from the war and the security complications and repercussions that accompanied it, at the forefront of these are extremely complex difficulties that production inputs suffered from, which cast a negative shadow on the exit of a large number of producing states.

And compared to revenues between the first quarter of the current year, 2024, and the first quarter of last year, 2023.

The quarterly report indicated that there has been a significant development in the level of revenues for the benefit of the current year 2024, even though the first quarter of the year 2023 was stable, considering that the war broke out in mid-April, and revenues for the first quarter of the year 2023 amounted to 3.5 billion pounds.  (A trillion old pounds) from a total of 13 productive states, while revenues for the first quarter of the current year, 2024, exceeded 9 billion pounds (a trillion old pounds) from a total of 7 productive states.

The Director General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited, Mohammad Taher Omar, expected that the new policies and plans pursued by the company will have positive repercussions on the future of the traditional mining sector, indicating that the government is continuing to reduce and contain the problems facing it within the framework of the Mineral Resources Company’s policy to legalize the traditional mining sector and transform it to small and organized mining.
