Arrangements to Prepare Fall Water Drainage Facilities

Director of the Roads, Bridges and Water Drains Authority in Khartoum State, Engineer Mukhtar Omar Saber, has said that the most prominent aspect of performance in rehabilitating roads and preparations for the fall season is the rehabilitation of the Western Nile Road from the Military College to Deshenab, with a length of 30 km, stressing that work will continue until the Al-Huqna area.
During a meeting between the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, and the authority’s leaders (Sunday), he revealed that potholes had been addressed on Al-Wadi Street from the Halfaya Bridge roundabout, while work had been completed to protect the Western Nile Road from random activities that affect traffic flow in the areas of Al-Badouba and Al-Gezira Islang.
The director of the authority added that the authority plans to begin work in the fall by preparing drains, rehabilitating slides, raising creeks, and strengthening gears in the Karary and Omdurman localities. He said that the authority has supported service institutions in the field of drinking water, hygiene, and removing dust from roads.
For his part, the governor of Khartoum said that the Roads Authority, despite the loss of vehicles and some of them being looted by the rebel militia, made significant efforts to rehabilitate the roads according to an ongoing emergency plan and seeks to work on preparing the fall water drainage facilities, along with, reopening the vehicle licensing office in Karary by the traffic police.
