After its Violations.. Will Sudanese Accept Militia’s Return to Forefront Again?
* Minister: Rapid Support Forces (RSF) sold its present and future by itself.
*Wafaa Ghandour: How do we accept a militia that pursues chaos and declares everything permissible?
* Leader of Justice and Equality: The Sudanese people will not accept rebellion and its incubator (Taqaddum)
* Professionals Association: The people will not accept any solution that leads to the return of any armed force with political ambition.
* Ahmed Al-Mufti: Any citizen whose freedoms were raped and whose money was looted cannot accept the return of the militia
* Abu Bakr Al-Sheikh: The Sudanese people will not accept the militia even as human beings
Female Citizen: I live with my children the worst days of my life in Al-Jeraif because of the militia
After entering the second year of the RSF Militia’s rebellion against the Sudanese Armed Forces, the Sudanese citizen continues to face his suffering, which is considered the worst in the world due to the violations that the militia has committed and is still carrying out, starting with the occupation of citizens’ homes, looting and stealing their property, rapes, torture and forced displacement, through to targeting infrastructure and its impact on services. What is necessary for the citizen, such as water, electricity, communications, etc. (Sudan Events) conducted a survey and asked a question: Will the Sudanese people accept the return of the militia to the forefront again? I came up with the following statements.
Poll – Aya Ibrahim
The Acting Minister of Social Development of Khartoum State, Dr. Siddig Freeni:
The Sudanese people experienced the RSF as a front for the government behind them and lived as a rebellious force against the state in name and form.
Freeni added, “In practice, its war was more deeply against the Sudanese people in terms of the value of their property and possessions, and their cultural and ethical heritage, and that its war was against women in their honor and chastity, and considered them a commodity to be bought and sold. Freeni stressed that the RSF sold its present and future himself, and he should not expect from others what he sold recklessly.” He doesn’t envy her if they return it to him.
Difficult to accept:
Khadija Mohammad, a resident of Al-Jeraif neighborhood in Khartoum and a mother of two children between the ages of 10 and 15 years, says that it is difficult for the RSF militia to accept in their lives again after the practices and violations it carried out against the residents of the neighborhood.
Khadija points out that she and her two children are spending the worst days of their lives due to the militia’s practices that have caused the high cost of living and the interruption of the water and electricity supply. They suffer from this throughout the month of Ramadan until a barrel of water reached 7 thousand pounds. She said that the RSF Militia has reached the point during the past hours of demanding… The residents of the area left her, forcing a large number of them to leave the area, while she and her two children are still searching for enough money to adjust their situation and leave after spending more than a year in the village, but she is forced to leave it for fear of her life and that of her children.
Various attacks:
Last March, field reports by the Wad Medani and Al-Hasahisa Resistance Committees reported that the RSF militia killed dozens of civilians in attacks on 53 villages in the state of Gezira. This was preceded by another report by the Central Observatory for Human Rights in which it said that the militia attacked 39 villages during a period of communications and Internet outage in the state, and this resulted in 46 civilians were killed and 90 others were injured.
Multiple suffering:
The tragic stories left behind by the RSF Militia due to its practices against humanity vary. Muhammad Ahmed Hassan, a resident of the Al-Azozab area, narrates the tragedy of the death of his wife, whom he transported after suffering from the disease via boat to reach a hospital in the city of Omdurman, after her condition worsened due to the militia’s entry into the area and the lack of medicine and the closure of health centers for fear of the actions of the militia.
Hassan continues his speech with a lump in his throat, saying that his wife died hours after she was taken to the hospital and that he was forced to bury her alone. He said that he was unable to inform his family of the death due to the lack of credit and poor network, in addition to his inability to return home until after several days and inform him. His family, and attributed all this tragedy to the RSF Militia, which he said had it not rebelled against the army, what happened to them and others would not have happened. He added: Therefore, it is impossible for any citizen to accept the return of the RSF Militia to the forefront after all the Sudanese people were harmed by it.
Creating chaos:
In turn, the daughter of the leader of the National Congress, Professor Ibrahim Ghandour, Dr. Wafaa Ghandour refuses to accept the return of the militia to life and the Sudanese equation again, and asks, “How do we accept a militia that creates chaos and makes everything permissible?”
Wafa said that it is not possible to accept the return of the RSF Militia, which committed all violations, including destruction, killing, displacement, and plundering of all the Sudanese people. She concluded her speech with calls to support the Sudanese Armed Forces and restore security and stability to Sudan.
Sanctions request:
Two days ago, the Foreign Relations Committees of the US House of Representatives and Senate called on President Joe Biden to urgently consider imposing sanctions on the RSF Militia and its leader, Mohammad Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), as a result of committing grave human rights violations. This was preceded by the United States of America last September imposing sanctions on its leaders. In the RSF Militia, including Abdul Rahim Hamdan Dagalo, deputy commander of the forces, and its commander in West Darfur state, Abdul Rahman Jumaa.
Justification for rejection:
On the other hand, the official spokesman for the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) forces and member of the Armed Struggle Forces Media Room, Brigadier General Hamid Hajar, affirmed that the Sudanese people will not accept rebellion again or their political incubator, the Coordination of Democratic Civilian Forces (Taqaddum).
Hajar justified his speech by saying that the militia and Taqaddum were the ones who ignited the war in the country and because of them the Sudanese people paid the price in death, displacement and homelessness.
Reparation:
The Director of the Khartoum International Center for Human Rights, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mufti said that it is difficult for any citizen to accept the presence of the militia in their lives again
He said, “I do not think that any citizen whose freedoms were raped or whose money was looted, even if this did not happen to him personally, but rather it happened to those he cares about, can accept the return of the militias to the forefront.”
Regarding confronting this in the event of the militia’s return and opening reports to confront it, the Mufti said, “In my opinion, these are political crimes and dealing with them through criminal reports is not possible due to the impossibility of providing witnesses for various reasons.” He added, “This is what the experience of Rwanda and the experience of South Africa taught us, therefore.”
The treatment will be through transitional justice, so that the first agenda of the next government will be reparation and compensation, followed by reconstruction.”
Political ambition:
The official spokesman for the Sudanese Professionals Association, Dr. Al-Walid Ali, confirmed that the Sudanese people will not accept any solution that leads to the return of any armed force with political ambitions to the forefront again.
Ali added, “Meaning that the RSF Militia and the militia associated with it, in addition to the current militias or those under formation, will not have a political role in future Sudan.”
He said, on the other hand, that the people will also not accept that there will be any political role for the army in post-war Sudan, and refuse to recognize any political group that sponsors or supports any armed faction, and pointed out that the Sudan of the revolution
The armed factions will be required to be dissolved (first) before entering into any political process.
Unlimited transgressions:
Actor and director Abu Bakr Al-Sheikh says that it is natural for the Sudanese people to reject the return of the militia to the forefront again, even those who supported it from the political parties and incubators.
The Sheikh pointed out that what the RSF Militia did to the Sudanese people exceeded the limit of imagination
Transgressions, violations, rape, theft, looting, murder, displacement, ethnic cleansing and expulsion, and he stressed that the Sudanese people will not accept them at all and that they will have no role or place in Sudan even as human beings and not as a force or organization.
Rejection agreement:
From what was stated in the statements of those surveyed by (Sudan Events) about the future of the RSF Militia in the country, everyone agreed that it will not be accepted by the Sudanese people again after the widespread violations it committed in the areas it controlled.
