Al-Ahly of Egypt will meet its guest, Mazembe of Congo, at 10 pm today, Friday, at Cairo Stadium, in the second leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League, noting that the first leg in Congo ended in a goalless draw.
The winner of the Al-Ahly matches against Congolese Mazembe qualifies to face the winner of the Tunisian matches against Esperance against Mamelodi Sundowns, in the final of the African Champions League.
Al-Ahly Club received approval from the competent authorities to have 50,000 fans attend the Mazembe match to support the Red Giants in the fateful match.
At nine in the evening today, Tunisian club Esperance will be a heavy guest on Sun Downs at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, in the match that brings them together in the second leg of the semi-finals of the 2024 African Champions League competition.
With a slight advantage for the Tunisian club after winning the first leg at the Hamadi Al-Aqrabi Olympic Stadium with a score of 1-0, but “Makshakha” is well aware that the task in South Africa will not be easy given the capabilities of Sun Downs and the usual huge public support, and the historical advantage remains one of the incentives for Esperance to return with the qualification card to the final. The Bab Souika team has only previously been defeated by Sun Downs once in two decades, and thus there are high hopes of continuing that advantage.
