The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied what was reported about the refusal of the Civil Registry and Passports Mission at the Sudanese Embassy in Kampala to issue passports for a group of Sudanese youth due to their tribal origins, considering them social incubators for Rapid Support Forces (RSF) .
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday that the procedures for obtaining the passport are carried out individually and electronically, and there is no room for group treatment based on the tribe of the applicants, as stated in the story.
It stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not have the authority to ban the passport of any Sudanese citizen, because issuing passports is not within its jurisdiction.
The Foreign Ministry said, “It goes without saying that all Sudanese, with all their tribes and social components, are equal in the rights and duties of citizenship, in accordance with applicable legislation and followed government policies. Embassies and all their offices are strictly committed to this.”
It stressed that the crimes and atrocities committed by the terrorist militia are the responsibility of those who commit them and their leaders, and have nothing to do with the tribes or social components to which they belong, and added, “These components have disavowed those crimes.”
She said that the legal measures taken by the competent authorities against the militia members, especially after declaring it a terrorist organization, are due to the crimes they committed, not their tribes, and It continued, “The militia’s attempt to hide behind the tribe to escape responsibility is cheap propaganda, and defeats its claim that it represents all social components.” in the country”.
