Yesterday, Thursday, the Supreme Sports Council confirmed its decision to establish a committee to supervise the work of the Spanish Football Federation during the coming months, “in response to the entity’s crisis and in defense of the public interest of Spain.”
After the meeting of the Sustainable Development Board of Directors, its Chairman, José Manuel Rodriguez Uribe, the Spanish Minister of Sports, urged the members of the Spanish Football Federation’s Management Committee to limit their duties to merely the normal management of the entity.
“The situation of the Royal Spanish Football Federation requires a lofty mentality and the government is acting seriously, determinedly and responsibly, and with the establishment of the Supervision, Normalization and Representation Committee, the Sustainable Development Committee maintains the public interest, in order to restore reputation.” The Spanish Minister of Sports said.
“The good name and image of Spanish football and the completion of the electoral process with a renewed council for the period 2024-2028.” He added.
The Sustainable Development Committee announced that it will meet again next Tuesday, April 30, to analyze the general situation of the Spanish Football Federation and implement new measures.
It is worth noting that the Spanish police; They raided the headquarters of the Spanish Football Federation on March 20, as part of an investigation into allegations of corruption and various crimes.
Spanish media reported that the raid was part of a judicial investigation into the contracts signed by former Federation President Luis Rubiales to transfer the Spanish Super Cup to Saudi Arabia.
