Authorization of the Army…popular Messages in a Fateful battle
Sudan Events – Abdul Bassit Idris
A public call has called for the launch of a popular initiative to authorize the armed forces, on Friday, and the hashtag call for authorization topped social networking sites.
Objective context
The call comes to authorize the army and security services as they are fighting a fateful battle targeting Sudan and its people. The war of April 15 last year was not for reasons related to seizing power through a coup attempt by Hemedti, as much as it is an integrated process of a conspiracy targeting the state and its citizens, which in its context employed the social and political contradictions that are taking place in the imteral arena.
But the Sudanese quickly came to the truth after a year of war. The reality was that the fashion of democracy and the restoration of civil rule did not work, which they wore as a cover for the war that devastatingly targeted the present and future of their youth, archive houses and museums were burned, the state’s production and service institutions, schools, universities, places of learning and worship were destroyed, and civil registry data and land records were destroyed. National capital was impoverished by destroying factories, private sector companies and institutions, and banks and citizens’ property were plundered.
Shocking reports:
United Nations statistics say that about 14,000 people were killed in this war, and that about 18 million people suffer from severe hunger.
On the other hand, the war forced millions of Sudanese to leave the areas of conflict to their families and acquaintances in safe states.
International reports ignore the reality of the Rapid Support (RSF) Militia’s violations and the targeting of citizens by killing and forced displacement in Khartoum, Gezira and Al-Fula, and ethnic cleansing in the states of West and Central Darfur, or by arresting thousands of civilians in unknown humanitarian conditions.
Before authorization:
What is striking about the call to authorize the army is that it came from the youth group. The pre-war period witnessed tension in the relationship between the army and the demonstrators, and the plan to dismantle the army infiltrated among the chants of popular demands calling for freedom, peace, and justice by the voices of some demonstrators. The April war brought about major conceptual changes that led to a major popular alignment behind the armed forces, enabling the army to restore its relationship with the youth.
According to unofficial statistics, about one hundred thousand Sudanese young men joined the ranks of the popular resistance, and thousands of young people, including the Al-Baraa Brigades, Ghadaboon Brigades, and the Kings of Engagement, contributed effectively in the battles that the army fought to liberate Omdurman.
Reasons for authorization
The young man Mazen Youssef – one of the supporters of authorizing the army said to (Sudan Events), “We want to authorize the army to confirm the legitimacy of the army’s representation of the Sudanese people, so that no party can impose external agendas. We know that there are external parties that want to say that the RSF has legitimacy and is fighting for Marginal issues, and we want to say to those abroad that the people are with the army.
For her part, Nahla Abdul Moneim told (Sudan Events) that their authorization to the army was to fight the militia that displaced them from their homes. Nahla adds: “The army represents us, and people are fleeing from areas where militia members and mercenaries are present, and they come to army places to protect them against murder and rape.”
Big victory:
In turn, political analyst Kamal Abbas views the call for authorization of the army by the people as a milestone in the course of the war. Kamal believes in his speech to (Sudan Events) that the army needs to stand and support all sectors of the Sudanese people at this stage of the war more than at any time during the year. The first is from the war, and indicates that the army, despite its understanding of the Mobilized and the popular resistance, is more concerned about their lives, their future, and their efforts to build the nation. Kamal called for more cohesion between the army and the people so that the Sudanese will be victorious in this existential battle”
