Sovereign Directives on Exports

During his meeting in his office in Port Sudan (Sunday), the Vice President of the Sovereign Council, Malik Aqar, directed the Acting Minister of Trade and Supply, Al-Fateh Abdullah Yousuf, to open more markets for Sudanese exports and work to organize the export and import process.
Aqar reviewed the performance of the Ministry of Commerce and Supply during the past period, its plans and programs for the next stage, and the results of the Minister of Commerce’s visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt and his meetings with the Qatari Minister of Commerce.
He stressed the need to establish controls and proposals that would develop the export sector and remove all obstacles that prevent the flow of exports, in order to limit smuggling operations and preserve the state’s economic capabilities.
For his part, the Acting Minister of Trade and Supply explained in a press statement that the meeting discussed the ministry’s performance, its plan, and the challenges facing it to play its role in organizing the export and import process.
He presented a detailed report to the Vice President of the Sovereign Council about his visit to the Republic of Egypt and the meeting with the Qatari Minister of Commerce, through which joint protocols were developed to enhance cooperation and direct coordination in foreign trade operations and increase revenues for the state treasury.
The following are the obstacles facing the export proceeds process. He indicated that it was agreed with the exporters to supply the export proceeds within a maximum period of two months.
