Russia: We Support Stopping Fighting and Keeping Sudan United

Russia’s Ambassador to Cairo, Georgy Borisenko, has said that his country supports the resumption of the Jeddah negotiations for the benefit of the Sudanese, to reach an end to the fighting, and for Sudan to remain united.
The Ambassador added, according to the Middle East News Agency: “We share the same position with Egypt regarding the situation in Sudan, and we support reaching a political solution and a ceasefire,” expressing his hope that the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) will find common ground to avoid expanding the conflict, which could lead to the division of Sudan.
He stressed that Moscow does not determine for the Sudanese what the form of government should be, and does not interfere in their choices of government, whether civilian or military.
