Salva Kiir Urges the Government and Al-Hilu Movement to Sign Relief Access Document

The President of South Sudan, Lieutenant-General Salva Kiir Mayardit, met at the Presidential Palace in Juba, on Monday, a member of the Sovereign Council and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Shams Al-Din Kabashi.
President Salva Kiir’s advisor for security affairs, Tut Qalwak, said that Kabbashi informed President Salva Kiir of the government’s readiness to sign a document to deliver humanitarian aid with the SPLM-North sector.
He added that President Salva Kiir directed the need to expedite the signing of the document to facilitate the arrival of relief to citizens in government-controlled areas and movement-controlled areas.
The government and the SPLM had agreed, during a meeting between Kabbashi and the head of the SPLM-North Sector, Abdul Aziz Al-Hilu, to deliver humanitarian aid to citizens immediately and to sign a document specifying how to deliver humanitarian aid within a week.
