Cooperation Agreement between Gezira Scheme and “GIAD”

The governor of the Gezira Scheme, Ibrahim Mustafa, has revealed the extent of the damage to which the project was subjected to the looting and theft of its property and assets from the rebel militia.
During his meeting in Port Sudan, the Executive Director of the GIAD Engineering Industries Group, Engineer Abdullah Abdul-Marouf, stressed the need for the Gezira Scheme to enter into partnerships with the GIAD Group in a number of fields that contribute to advancing the wheel of production.
In implementation of the memorandum of understanding recently signed between the two parties, the Governor presented the urgent needs of the Gezira Scheme in providing means of movement for workers in farms, production inputs such as fertilizers and burlap for farmers, the manufacture of water regulators in the field of irrigation, mechanisms to support the agricultural engineering fleet in the field of land preparations, and the provision of solar energy panels to illuminate the farms in addition to providing “rickshaws and Tuktuks” in comfortable installments for the project workers to improve their standard of living.
The meeting discussed aspects of joint cooperation between the management of the Gezira Scheme and the GIAD Group of Companies in light of the repercussions of the war taking place in the country.
For his part, the CEO of GIAD Industrial Group, Abdullah Marouf, pledged to provide all the needs of the project so that it can assume its pioneering role in the field of production and support the national economy.
