Accused of Receiving Money From Militia, Al-Taher Hajar, Relieved

Sudan Events – Agencies

The situation within the corridors of the Sudan Liberation Forces Association is heading towards further escalation after a decision issued by the highest leadership body in the organization relieving Al-Taher Hajar from the leadership of the movement and accusing him of being loyal to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and receiving money from them, but leaders loyal to Hajar opposed the decision and confirmed its illegality.
A statement issued by the Chairman of the Revolutionary Liberation Council, a copy of which reached Sudan Tribune, said: “After a reform memorandum pushed by the Executive Office demanding the removal of Hajar, and after consultations, it was decided to relieve him from the presidency of the Sudan Liberation Forces Association and form a committee to hold him accountable.”
Hajar was accused of committing constitutional transgressions and violations, including high treason by supporting the RSF in their war against the Sudanese people, which was the reason for his relieve from membership in the Transitional Sovereignty Council.
The statement indicated that Hajar misappropriated the organization’s resources and deliberately disposed of funds without the knowledge of the movement’s institutions, which was considered financial corruption, in addition to his deliberate absence of the movement’s institutions and working alone in many situations, including alliances and political positions.
He continued, “The president bypassed the institution in the issue of receiving money from the leader of the RSFmilitia without the knowledge of the institution or even the executive office.”
He explained that the manner in which the funds were received and distributed is still a matter of question and ambiguity, and the president continued to evade the movement’s institutions in clarifying the details of the money he received from the leader of the RSFMilitia.
Sudan Liberation Forces spokesman Fathi Osman told Sudan Tribune that Vice President Abdullah Yahya was chosen as head of the organization until the general conference, which will be held after the end of the war.
On the other hand, the rapporteur of the Revolutionary Liberation Council said that the one who issued the relieve statement is the vice president of the Revolutionary Liberation Council and does not head the council.
