Aqar: War of Dignity Requires more Solidarity and Media Cohesion

Vice President of the Sovereign Council, Malik Aqar Aer, has confirmed that the government is open to all media visions and ideas for the provisions of coordination and cooperation with all national media institutions to confront the settlement war and the occupation of Sudan and to support the military media in the Battle of Dignity.
Aqar said while addressing, on Monday, the workshop organized by the Ankara Center for Press Services entitled “Towards a pioneering role for the press and media in Sudan,” he said that the current stage requires more efforts, cohesion and media solidarity in light of the war of dignity that the country is waging to fill the gaps through which the enemy can enter.
Aqar pointed out that international media outlets lack credibility due to the absence of true standards for media work and have become a tool in the hands of different ideologies that work according to their interests.
He pointed out that the performance of the media in Sudan currently lacks real standards for controlling it and does not live up to the history of Sudan in media work.
Aqar stressed the need to pay attention to digital media and include it among media institutions due to its speed in transmitting information among society, especially in light of the widespread of smart phones, which have become mobile media institutions.
For his part, the Acting Minister of Culture and Information, Graham Abdulkader, said that the earthquake that Sudan is experiencing now comes within the framework of the clash of civilizations, and that local and regional partners planned this as an aggression against Sudan and its people.
He revealed that the losses of the General Corporation for Radio and Television as a result of the militia’s targeting amounted to $30 million, and he revealed that more than 40 radio stations and satellite channels had gone out of service.
