Warning Bakery Owners in Shendi against Increasing Bread Prices

The Director of Economic Affairs and Rapporteur of the Emergency Economic Committee in Shendi, Abdul Qayyum Abdul Wahab, warned bakery owners and agents against increasing bread prices. He directed not to sell a loaf of bread for 100 pounds and stressed the importance of adhering to the weights.
This came after the field visit carried out by the Economic Committee to all bakeries in the city of Shendi, accompanied by the Supreme Prosecutor Mohammad Awad Al-Karim, which included (46) bakeries. The committee established a number of controls to preserve the rights of citizens and bakery owners.
In another context, Abdul Qayyum Abdul Wahab received a delegation from the Economic Committee of the River Nile State, headed by the Director General of Economic Affairs in the state, Mohamed Abdul Aziz, where the delegation reviewed the economic situation in the locality, especially the import of strategic goods, people’s livelihoods, and the work of the committee in the locality.
The delegation also met with the Executive Director of Shendi Locality, Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, and the owners and managers of gas depots.
The delegation visited the sorghum market, which absorbed incoming imported merchants, in addition to the problems and obstacles.
Abdul Qayyum Abdul Wahab confirmed the availability of flour and petroleum products, including benzene, gasoline, and bakery and cooking gas.
The Director of Economic Affairs, Shendi, explained that the committee is working on the exit of food and food supplies from the local area to Karary, Omdurman, in accordance with controls, regulations and approvals, to avoid the occurrence of gaps.
