Jaber Discusses with Khartoum Governor Plans for Reconstruction of the Capital

Member of the Sovereign Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General, Marine Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, was briefed on the progress of work in rehabilitating and maintaining the electricity and water stations that were destroyed by the rebel Rapid Support militia (RSF) in the liberated areas of the old city of Omdurman.
When he met in his office, on Thursday, with the Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, he was assured of the re-maintenance of power stations and the return of electricity to the old neighborhoods of Omdurman, especially the Grand Field station, which supplies the Bant neighborhood.
The meeting discussed the plans and programs drawn up by the state government for the reconstruction of Khartoum, especially the production sector, and ways to implement what was agreed upon regarding infrastructure during his recent visit to the state.
For his part, the Governor of Khartoum explained in a press statement that he briefed a member of the Sovereign Council on the progress of work and the efforts made to repair, rehabilitate and develop water and electricity stations, pointing out that the state government has received a number of spare parts and water pumps that will enter service during the next two days.
He added that the Sovereign Council member pledged to finance the cost of maintaining and re-operating the Bait Al-Mal station.
