States Governors Pledge to Provide Agricultural Inputs

The states governors have pledged to implement the plans presented by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the state ministries, stressing during their meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Abu Bakr Al-Bushra, in Port Sudan, the provision of all requirements for the summer agricultural season.
The Minister gave a detailed explanation about the ministry’s preparations for the summer agricultural season 2024-2025, and stressed the need to coordinate efforts between the various ministries of agriculture in the states to make the exceptional agricultural season a success, stressing the need for the ministries to commit to using improved seeds and using the recommended packages of agricultural research in order to provide food for citizens affected by the war.
On the other hand, the Minister discussed with the Acting Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, the Acting Minister of Labor and Administrative Reform, the Director General of Agricultural Research, the Director General of the Bureau of Accounts, and the Director General of Internal Audit, a review of the performance of the Gezira Scheme and performance reports from the committees assigned by the Supreme Committee to evaluate the financial and administrative performance of the Gezira Scheme. Al-Bushra was reassured on the work of the committees and appreciated the efforts of the various committees.
