The former Secretary General of the Sudan Farmers Union, Abdul Hamid Adam Mukhtar, has revealed that
The rainy agricultural season faces great challenges due to the effects of war, including the scarcity of agricultural inputs and their high prices, in addition to security challenges.
He told Sudan Events, “Despite these challenges and the impacts of the war that broke out on the fifteenth of April 2023 on all sectors, especially agricultural, producers are ready to enter the agricultural season with the available capabilities.”
He added that the state is currently required to develop flexible policies through the Central Bank of Sudan to provide the necessary financing, address the difficult debt of banks and agricultural companies, secure production areas while facilitating export and import procedures, and activating the role of productive associations and organizations.
