Leverkusen makes history with an undefeated season against Augsburg

Bayer Leverkusen, led by its Spanish coach Xabi Alonso, entered history after becoming the first team in the history of the German League to achieve an undefeated season, after yesterday’s victory over Augsburg 2-1, ending the season without any loss.
At the Bay Arena, Leverkusen’s stronghold, the team achieved an exciting victory, scoring for Alonso’s sons Victor Bonifasi and Robert Andric in the 12th and 27th minutes, while Mert Komor scored the visitors’ only goal in the 62nd minute.
Bayer Leverkusen, champion of the German League, reached 90 points collected from winning 27 matches, drawing in 6, and maintaining its record undefeated, to succeed in achieving an unprecedented achievement and ending the entire season without defeat for the first time in the history of the German League.
With this victory, Leverkusen reached 51 matches without defeat in all competitions this season, in an unprecedented historical achievement.
The German Bayer Leverkusen had qualified for the final of the European League for the current season 2023-24, at the expense of its Italian counterpart, Roma, with a score of 4-2 on aggregate. The last defeat of coach Xabi Alonso’s team dates back to last year against Roma in the first leg of the European League semi-final (1-0) at the Olympico).
