Vice President ofthe Sovereign Council, Malik Aqar Aer, was briefed on the performance of the Ministry of Education during the past period, its plan for the next stage, and the arrangements for resuming studies and holding exams for the various educational levels on time.
Aqar stressed that the government pays great attention to education at this stage, especially since the war has disrupted the academic calendar.
Aqar underlined, during his meeting in his office, on Sunday, with the Minister of Education, Mahmoud Sir Al-Khatam Al-Houri, emphasized the necessity of holding the primary and intermediate certificate exams on the specified date in accordance with the plan drawn up by the ministry, addressing the issue of students stranded inside and outside Sudan, and overcoming all technical obstacles in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and the Supreme Security Committee.
The meeting discussed proposals for when the Sudanese certificate exam will be held and the need to ensure that the exams and seat numbers reach the proposed centers in the safe states and ensure their arrival to external centers by the relevant higher committees.
The meeting stressed the importance of arranging for the end of the academic year next November in the safe states and then resuming the new academic year, and ensured the provision of textbooks to all states, especially the third grade textbook for the intermediate stage.
The Acting Minister of Education announced that the primary stage exams for centers outside Sudan affiliated with the River Nile State will be held on June 1, while the intermediate stage exams for external centers affiliated with the River Nile State will be held on July 6 of this year.
Regarding the Sudanese certificate exam, Al-Houri confirmed that the exam will be scheduled in coordination with the Sudan Examinations Committee and the Supreme Security Committee.
He pointed out that the ministry has begun distributing the third-grade intermediate textbook to all states except White Nile, Kassala and Sennar states, noting that things are going well according to the established plan.
