Kassala is Preparing to Regulate Border Trade

The Department of Trade and Supply at the Ministry of Finance and Manpower in Kassala State, in cooperation with the branch office of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and a number of relevant authorities, is preparing to hold a workshop on regulating border trade in Kassala on the twenty-eighth of this May. The workshop, which will cover three working papers, comes in implementation of the directives of the Transitional Sovereign Council to activate border trade in Kassala State and to benefit from the preferential advantages of the state in advancing the overall economy of the state and Sudan.
Meanwhile joint committees were formed to prepare for the workshop and prepare three papers on border trade in the national economy, border trade procedures and regulations, and preferential features of border trade in Kassala State.
Director of the Department of Trade and Supply in the state, Ahmed Mohamed Adam, explained that the proposed workshop targets workers in chambers of commerce and partners working in border trade from public banks, the Bank of Sudan, SSMO, Customs, universities, the production sector and economic resources, and departments working in the field of border trade in Kassala State.
The Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Trade in Kassala State, Mubarak Mohammad Sayed Ahmed, stated that the workshop is very important and comes within the framework of informing the community of the importance of border trade and how to know the procedures and regulations of border trade.
