Requiring Mining Companies to Implement Environmental and Safety Requirements

The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited sent a technical and administrative team to the River Nile State to monitor the environmental and security conditions of producing mining companies. The delegation included representatives of the Environment and Safety Department, the Mining Insurance Police, and the Security of Minerals Economics.
The head of the delegation, Engineer Hisham Omar Babiker, revealed the implementation of an inspection tour of all mining companies producing in the River Nile State, during which the delegation was reassured of commitment to implementing environmental and safety requirements at production sites. The delegation also inspected the work environment and the conditions of workers and employees, calling on companies to commit to developing environmental and safety systems. He explained that the inspection tour of mining companies aims to evaluate and review companies with regard to the extent of their compliance with environmental and safety requirements, in addition to obliging workers in companies to use safety tools to reduce risks and preserve lives and environmental safety, noting that the tour targets all companies operating in the field of mining in the states.
