The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has said that life-saving food and nutrition assistance for more than 117,000 people in hot hunger areas in South and Central Darfur is on its way to those affected and is sufficient for two months.
The program stated that a convoy carrying tons of food supplies crossed from Chad’s Tina to Darfur on Thursday.
In a press release, the World Food Program (WFP)stressed the importance of this aid reaching its final destination safely.
In this context, the Governor of the Darfur region, Minni Arko Minawi, wrote on his account on the X platform “The Tina crossing between Sudan and Chad received 31 trucks loaded with food supplies affiliated with WFP in its way to Darfur”.
Minawi confirmed that this convoy would find full cooperation from the joint force and other regular forces, and warned the Rapid Support Militia against undertaking any action that would cause difficulties on the convoy’s route.
