Afwerki: We Stand by Sudan and will Work with its government to End Suffering of Sudanese

Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki has received in the Eritrean capital, Asmara, Vice President of the Sovereignty Council, Malek Agar.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and enhancing aspects of joint cooperation in accordance with the Sudanese government’s strategy to build balanced external relations, based on respect and protecting common interests between Sudan and its friends who stood by its government and people during the period of war launched by the rebel Rapid Support militia.
President Afwerki affirmed his support for Sudan and working with its government to end the suffering of the Sudanese as a result of the repercussions of war, displacement and asylum, stressing the duty of the leaders of the Sudanese government to lead it to safety in light of the great conspiracies being hatched against it and the plans to divide it.
For his part, Agar provided an enlightenment to President Afwerki about the developments in the humanitarian situation, the military situation, the initiatives proposed to resolve the Sudanese crisis, and the government’s position on it, reiterating Sudan’s keenness and openness to all initiatives that preserve the dignity of the Sudanese people and the sovereignty of their state.
He pointed out that the meeting discussed other issues and topics of common interest.
