Discussions to Protect Workers against Mining Risks

The director of the office of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited in the Red Sea State, Mohamed Ahmed Osman Al-Hajj “Tita,” discussed with the Director of the Civil Defense Forces Department in the state, Brigadier General Police, Ahmed Mohamed Hamidan, aspects of cooperation and joint coordination between the company and the Civil Defense Forces in mechanisms to protect workers in the mining sector, against the risks that the work was accompanied by the presence of the Environment and Safety Supervisor at the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Taj Al-Sir Mohammad Maqit.
The director of the office of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited in the Red Sea State, Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Osman Al-Haj “Tita,” said that the meeting set a road map towards achieving the best levels of public safety for workers at gold production sites, stressing the need for continued communication and cooperation with the Civil Defense Department in order to achieve and preserve the national interest and to ensure the safety of lives and property and contribute to providing a safe investment environment away from risks, he explained that the meeting discussed mechanisms to protect miners against mining risks represented by disasters, well demolition incidents, floods and rain, in addition to raising awareness of the importance of public safety in mining markets, companies and factories from disasters and fires, and how to Dealing with accidents well, he pointed out that safety and public security are the company’s priorities, declaring his keenness for more cooperation and joint coordination to achieve the desired goals.
For his part, Director of the Civil Defense Department in the state, Brigadier General Ahmed Mohammed Humaidan, confirmed the readiness of the Civil Defense Forces to protect workers in the mining sector in emergency situations, firefighting and rescue operations, and providing first aid, pointing to the importance of cooperation and spreading the culture of civil defense through prevention and public safety measures for all mining activities.
