Minawi Announces Restoration of El Fasher “Lifeline”

The head of the Sudan Liberation Movement, Minni Arko Minawi, announced on Monday the recovery of the Golo reservoir, west of El Fasher, shortly after the Rapid Support militia took control of the site, which is the main water source for the capital of North Darfur.
Minawi said in a tweet on the “X” platform, “The joint force recovered the Golo reservoir, west of El Fasher, the only source of water.”
Minawi condemned the incident of cutting off water to El Fasher, which was crowded with civilians, and continued, “They documented while they were cutting off water to the city, and with this behavior they talk about democracy, and it is unfortunate that they are funded by countries that are members of the United Nations.”
