Bayern Munich intends to announce that Vincent Kompany will take over as coach of the team by signing a 3-year contract, to succeed Thomas Tuchel, ending the German team’s long search for a new technical director.
Karl-Heinze Rummenigge, former CEO of Bayern, revealed the decision of Max Eberl, member of the Board of Directors for Sports Affairs, to contract with Vincent Kompany to be the new coach.
Rummenigge explained that the opinion of Josep Guardiola, the former team coach who was coaching Kompany, was polled and he spoke very positively about Vincent as a talented coach. Guardiola knows Vincent well and his opinion was greatly appreciated.
Bayern intends to pay Burnley financial compensation ranging from 10 to 12 million euros to acquire Kompany, who has a contract with Burnley that extends until 2028.
It is noteworthy that Kompany led the team to promotion to the English Premier League in his first season with the team, but was relegated from it in the past season.
