Sudan Events – Follow-ups

Identical sources said that the villages of Al-Hush and Al-Hasahisa in Gezira state in central Sudan are witnessing a new wave of displacement as a result of raids carried out by the Rapid Support militia (RSF) for the purpose of looting, which left eight dead and dozens of civilians wounded.
An eyewitness told Sudan Tribune on Thursday that the citizens of the villages of Gharikana, Qalamouna, Abd Al-Fadil, Abu Adara and Al-Lauta Al-Mahi were almost completely displaced to Al-Manaqil and eastern Sudan.
Members of the Rapid Support Militia stormed villages and attacked citizens with whips in search of money, gold, and cars.
The eyewitness said that some militia members come for the purpose of slaughtering and eating livestock, and sometimes they force citizens to cook in order to eat.
Citizens from villages near Al-Hasahisa told Sudan Tribune that residents of Al-Kanabi – neighborhoods that include seasonal workers – in those areas were subjected to specific violations, the most recent of which was “Kanbu” Mahmoud in Al-Farijab.
The Wad Medani Resistance Committees in Gezira State said, in their monitoring, that the RSF militia killed eight civilians and wounded dozens of others in the latest wave of new violations that affected several towns and villages in Gezira State.
According to monitoring, the militia launched a treacherous attack on the village of Al-Douma, north of Al-Shabarqa, located east of the city of Wad Medani, the capital of Al-Gezira State, for the purpose of looting, resulting in three deaths.
The monitoring stated that the RSF have been attacking the town of Al-Hush and the villages around it in the south of Gezira State for days, with the aim of stealing citizens’ property, leaving five dead and dozens wounded.
The Wad Medani Resistance Committees confirmed that the militia is displacing residents, causing a mass exodus that affected a number of villages towards Al-Manaqil locality.
