Zainab Al Mahdi: Indicators of National Umma Division have Become Prominent

Member of the Political Bureau of the National Umma Party, Zainab Al-Mahdi, has said that the indicators of the party’s division have become prominent, noting that the factors of division are more available than ever before, and she acknowledged that the party’s institutions did not allow participation in “Taqaddum.”
Zainab Al-Mahdi added, according to “Sudan Tribune,” that the party participated in the coordination of the civil democratic forces “Taqaddum” as part of the “Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC).” She confirmed that the party had previously authorized entry into FFC Declaration.”
The member of the Political Bureau considered that the failure of the party’s institutions to meet to authorize participation in the coordination of “Taqaddum” had caused disputes and discrepancies, but she came back and said that what is happening in the party is normal and that it is an integral part of the state of division and polarization that took place in the political arena in the wake of the April 15 war.
Al-Mahdi said that when the party institutions met, they decided to submit a reform memorandum to the “Taqaddum” coalition, considering that the approach of the presidential institution is completely contrary to the party’s institutions. She continued, “The presidency is not part of the party’s decision-making circles.” The party’s decisions are issued by the political bureau, and this is a settled matter.”
