A leader in the National Umma Party – the Democratic Institutional Reform Group, Murtada Hubani, acknowledged the clear institutional weakness within the National Umma Party
He said in statements, “We will not remain silent, and our party is going in the wrong direction.”
He added, “Our convictions are that the democratic civil state is based on strong and cohesive parties, and therefore we have started to correct the course of the National Umma Party and hold those responsible for any shortcomings accountable.”
Hubani emphasized that the National Umma Party’s continuation in the Freedom and Change alliance is non-institutional and unconstitutional, and there was no consensus within the party’s institutions to form this alliance.
