Delegation from the Juba government in Port Sudan to resume South Sudan oil exports

The Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieldin Naeem Mohamed Saeed, described the relations between Sudan and South Sudan as strategic, especially in the field of oil. He said that the interests of the two countries in this sector are a red line, and revealed directives from the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council for full cooperation and coordination between the two countries until the work on resuming South Sudanese oil exports is completed. During his meeting with the South Sudan delegation at Bashayer 1 Petroleum Port in Port Sudan, he stressed the cooperation between the two parties to solve the technical and security problems and overcome the difficulties that hinder the completion of the process of resuming South Sudan’s oil exports.
“There must be complete coordination between the two countries to solve the outstanding problems in the oil field so that work can flow normally,” President Salva Kiir’s security advisor Tut Qalwak said. He stressed that the goals of the visit are to solve security problems.
While Engineer Mohamed Siddiq, General Manager of Petrolines Pipelines Company, confirmed the company’s readiness and its global capabilities to transport any barrel of oil produced in South Sudan to the world through Bashayer Port, wishing that work would continue smoothly as before, and revealing the technical and security obstacles that obstructed the workflow.
It is noteworthy that the delegation visited Bashayer 2 port, affiliated with Bapco, as part of South Sudan’s follow-up on re-pumping operations.
