Northern reveals efforts to address electricity problems

The governor of the north, head of the Supreme Council for Investment, Abdeen Awadallah, said despite the exceptional circumstances the country is going through, the security challenges, and production inputs, most notably electricity and desert encroachment, were able to achieve high productivity in the last agricultural season. During his meeting with a number of owners of agricultural investment projects in the state, he indicated the continuation of his government’s efforts and its support for agricultural investment projects to solve all their problems and develop a common vision for the advancement of agricultural and livestock production and manufacturing industries.

He said that the state government welcomes and stands strongly with the idea of establishing the Federation of Agricultural Investment Projects, which will work to find appropriate solutions to the problems and issues of investment projects. The northern governor reassured the owners of agricultural investment projects of the stability of the security conditions in the state, and said that the state security committee and other security committees are working to develop security plans and follow them up with the assistance of the armed popular resistance and the mobilized, stressing that the state is continuing to structure the armed popular resistance and build popular resistance structures at the state, local and unit levels.
For his part, the Minister of Investment and Industry in charge of the North, Omar Ali Saleh, praised the efforts and contributions of the owners of agricultural investment projects to support and support the armed forces since the outbreak of war in April of last year, in addition to their support for the production process and various fields of work in the state.
Investment basis:
He stressed that agricultural investment represents the basis of investment in the state, noting that the Ministry of Investment and Industry witnessed during the last period a great movement in the investment field, especially the “Made in Sudan” exhibition and the great results it produced, adding that his meeting with the Federal Minister of Energy during the past days in the city of Port Sudan discussed the problem of electricity has been troubling the owners of agricultural investment projects, stressing that the establishment of the East Nile Administrative Station in the Dongola Transformation Locality has been approved and ratified, and that the Electricity Company has actually begun preparing studies, while the Ministry of Investment and Industry in the state has prepared the geographical location of the station, in addition to approving a 100-megawatt solar energy station in the eastern region of the state, in addition to continuing efforts to complete work on the Dongola and Merowe conversion stations within the framework of the network connection with the Arab Republic of Egypt for 300 megawatts, in addition to the ministry’s efforts and cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development in the northern state to open paths for agricultural investment projects and herders.
Water atlas:
Omar announced the completion of the steps for the state, represented by the Ministry of Investment and Industry, to receive the water atlas from the Federal Ministry of Irrigation. During the meeting, a number of owners of agricultural investment projects reviewed their problems and concerns, including electricity, paths, roads, production inputs, protecting producers, financing, increasing feed and marketing fees, and securing investment projects, utensils and storages of agricultural crops and product preservation.
