Reconstruction of Agricultural and Livestock Sector on Experts’ Table

A workshop was held in Cairo on Saturday on post-war agricultural and livestock sector reconstruction programs and emergency programs for the two sectors
Sponsored by the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD)and the League of Arab States.
The workshop witnessed extensive discussion and interventions via Zoom technology.
A working paper was presented focusing on the importance of Sudan and its role in achieving Arab food security and the current situation in Sudan and the impact of the war on the agricultural and livestock sector and its impact on global and local food security and food exports. The paper focused on emergency programs specific to the sector’s resilience now and how to help it to withstand, continue, and bear the burdens and arrange priorities, addition to discussing the paper for post-war programs according to different axes and legal, structural, and financial organizational frameworks
With the allocation of a site for the organization to expand the circle of participation and enrich the discussion to produce a more accurate document to address the problems of the broad agricultural and livestock sector at the present time and after the war With how to help people to withstand, reproduce and export the surplus.
Head of the Meat Exporters Division, Dr. Khaled Al-Maqbool, considered the workshop an important event saying that Sudan is classified among ten countries that provide many of the world’s needs, which are increasing daily and its resources are decreasing.
He added while participating in the workshop via Zoom technology that Sudan’s role cannot be overlooked, whether in war or peace. Al-Maqbool pointed to the importance of resilience programs and said that it is not possible to talk about the future unless it is based on the present and how to maintain the flame of hope to help the merchant, exporter, producer and manufacturer to withstand the current circumstances.
