Threats to Stop Investments in Oil and Mining
Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
A number of Beja citizens launched an attack on a number of oil and mining companies due to their failure to assume social responsibility towards the areas in which they operate.
Head of the Beja People’s Graduates Conference, Dr. Issa Awli, condemned in press statements on Monday the weak interest of oil exploration and mining companies in the host communities, pointing out that one of the oil depot companies in the “Klanayeb” area ignored the demands of stakeholders in services and neglected its social responsibility.
Awli warned investment companies against continuing to ignore their role towards landowners in order to avoid a revolution by them called the “tsunami” hurricane, which would stop all investments coming to the state, particularly those led by investors who have no intention of accommodating the demands of landowners or providing services and contributing to development.
