Red Sea Acting Governor bans use of mixers and Thiourea in mining

The acting governor of the Red Sea, Maj.Gen.Eng. Mustafa Mohamed Nour Mahmoud, issued an emergency order banning the use of mixers, thiourea and other treatment methods in traditional and random mining operations in the state.
The order stipulates the prohibition of the use of any chemical substance in extracting minerals or processing balls and mining waste.
It also prohibits the circulation of mixers by sale, purchase, transport or use in the process of extracting and processing balls except through the competent authority in the Ministry of Minerals.
The decision stipulates that anyone who commits the crime of violation shall be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or a fine of no less than SDGs 6 million and in the event of non-payment, imprisonment for a period not exceeding three months or both penalties.
