Sudanese army SAF and the joint force of the armed movements supporting it confronted an attack by the Rapid Support Forces RSF on the SAF’ defenses in Al-Khayari, the area separating the states of Gezira and Gedarif in eastern Sudan.
Local sources reported to Sudan Tribune on Saturday that the attack was launched by the Rapid Support Forces RSF on Friday evening by infiltrating from the Hafira Forest, which is about five kilometers west of Al-Khayari.
The SAF’s defenses and the forces of the movements allied with the SAF confronted the attack, and the joint force broadcast video clips of the losses suffered by the Rapid Support Forces RSF that carried out the attack.
According to the same sources, the SAF and the armed movements were able to destroy a combat vehicle carrying a “Dushka” cannon, a looted saloon car, and motorcycles, in addition to receiving a combat vehicle for the attacking force.
They affirmed that there were deaths among the Rapid Support Forces RSF that carried out the surprise attack on Friday afternoon.
