US Special Envoy to Sudan Tom Perriello said that Generals Burhan and Hemedti who started this war have the ability to silence the weapons and allow the delivery of food, medicine and other life-saving aid across borders and across lines.
Perriello affirmed in a tweet on the “X” platform on the occasion of World Refugee Day that a very large number of Sudanese and other vulnerable people are forced to leave Sudan and flock to camps and cities across the region, and we must support organizations and countries that ensure they get food and medicine.
He added, “As we heard from Sudanese refugees in Chad, people are fleeing famine, violence, and even ethnic cleansing.”
He pointed out that millions have been forced to leave their homes, including 10 million internally IDPs.
He added, “The United States US continues to stand with Sudanese civilians affected by this ongoing war.”
