President of the Sovereignty Council (TSC )Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces SAF ,Lt. Gen.Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met in his office on Tuesday with Catherine Russell, Executive Director of UNICEF, who is visiting Sudan to assess the situation of children in the country.
The President of the Sovereignty Council TSC appreciated the efforts made by UNICEF and its cooperation with the government to care for Sudanese children.
Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, explained in a press statement that the meeting discussed the initiatives and projects provided by the organization to care for children in conflict areas and work to return the IDPs to their homes.
For her part, Catherine Russell appreciated the great cooperation she receives from the government and relevant institutions, which contributed to facilitating the performance of her duties, stressing the organization’s keenness to participate in everything that would overcome the challenges and difficulties facing children in Sudan, particularly with regard to nutrition and school dropouts.
