Sudan’s Ambassador to Brussels: EU sanctions are just (paper )

Sudan Events – Agencies

Sudan’s Ambassador to Brussels and its representative to the European Union, Abdel-Baqi Hamdan Kabir, described the decision to impose sanctions on six people, including two from the armed forces SAF and three he described as nobodies who have nothing to do with negotiations with the Rapid Support Forces RSF as a paper decision with no value.
Kabir said according to “Al-Muhaqqiq”: “It is clear that the main goal of the decision is to put more pressure on the armed forces and the parties supporting them from the movements and the government,” adding, “It has become very clear that the policies of the European Union EU support Taqddum and Freedom and Change FC groups,” considering that they represent the political wing of the rebel Rapid Support Forces RSF group, adding, “The evidence for this is that any action taken by the European Union EU is in fact supportive of Progress and the Rapid Support Forces RSF .”
Kabir pointed out that the European Union EU considers the current government a de facto government.
Kabir revealed a confrontation between him and the President of the European Council in this regard when he presented his credentials, adding, “I affirmed to him that there was no coup in Sudan because the former Prime Minister was not elected to be overthrown,” and continued, “These are things that were not known to them, in addition to the fact that the absence of an ambassador during the past period left a vacuum.”
He affirmed that the European Union EU failed to pass the agenda they intended to impose on Sudan, and turned a blind eye to many of the violations of the Rapid Support Forces RSF rebels, and said, “It is true that the European Union EU issued a very strong statement during the events in Geneina and Borrell condemned the Wad al-Noura massacre, but in the political line we find them against the SAF and against the government, as evidenced by the fact that they deal with it as a de facto government,” adding, “I told them if it is a de facto government, why did you accept my credentials?”
Kabir pointed out that the European Union EU is under the influence of certain circles, stressing that one of the bad messages of the recent decision is the addition of a well-known Islamic figure(Ali Karti), the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, considering his involvement an attempt to indicate that the Islamists are part of the war.
Kabir considered that the popular alignment that is currently happening around the army, which has now taken the initiative, and alongside it the joint forces and popular forces, was behind that decision, in addition to the failure of the Rapid Support rebels to seize and defeat El Fasher, which prompted the Europeans to search for other ways to send messages to create confusion in the ranks of the SAF.
He said that those who were sanctioned in the army have no connection to the European Union EU and did not come to it, and he stressed that the matter requires caution considering that trying to involve a figure like the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is known for his symbolism, political color and description, and he said that the accusation carries connotations that are not lost on people that the Islamists are the ones fighting with the army, reminding that all the Sudanese people now stand with the armed forces considering that what is happening determines whether Sudan will remain or not, and he continued, “If necessary, we (the ambassadors) will fight.”
