Sudan Events – Follow-ups

Khartoum Governor Ahmed Osman Hamza said that despite the ferocity of the battle of dignity, the authorities are waging a fierce war against drugs that pose a danger no less than reaping lives.
During his address to the celebration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, he expressed his regret for the spread of drug use in public before the war, pointing out the importance of integrating all links and official and voluntary efforts to reduce the demand for drugs.
However, this year’s celebration lacks sufficient information about drugs due to the war, so the weak-willed exploited the preoccupation of the agencies with the war, and those cooperating with the militia and the dealers are providing them with large supplies of drugs according to the seizures that were made in a number of locations, affirming that this situation requires vigilance and we must stand together to confront drugs.
He added, “Based on the state of emergency, we are ready to issue decisions that enhance the efforts to combat drugs, and any team that succeeds in arresting drugs, we will motivate it in order to preserve our youth who suffer from unemployment and poverty due to the war.”
