Vice President of the Sovereignty Council TSC Malik Agar directed the Minister of Energy and Oil, Mohi El-Din Naiem Mohamed Saeed, to find effective solutions to the electricity crisis as soon as possible, and pledged to overcome all obstacles and challenges facing the provision of electricity service.
He appreciated the efforts made to address the electricity issue in a number of Sudanese states, particularly the Red Sea state, and the proposed solutions and improvements in the Suakin Transformer Station to ease the burden and reduce the demand for electricity from the Turkish Barge.
While meeting the Minister of Oil and Energy, Agar appreciated the efforts made by the employees of the Ministry of Energy and Oil in providing services to citizens under the current situations, and the meeting discussed the ongoing arrangements and the operational plan to repair the pipeline transporting South Sudan’s crude oil and the need to fully restart it after the flow on the line increased by 80%.
For his part, the Minister of Energy affirmed the ministry’s keenness and serious efforts to solve the electricity crisis in a number of Sudanese states, explaining that improvements have already been made to the Suakin transformer station, which will increase the network’s power by 25%, reducing the costs of demand for the Turkish Barge.
He revealed the transfer of the main control unit to the city of Atbara and the transfer of Al-Markhiyat and Abu Hamad transformer to further improve electricity in the River Nile and the Red Sea.
As for the pipeline transporting South Sudan’s crude oil, he announced that the flow of crude oil is approaching 100% after removing all obstacles related to its operation.
