EU imposes Sanctions on Abdel Basset Hamza

European Union EU announced, on Friday, the imposition of sanctions on 6 individuals and 3 companies accused of financing Hamas and Jihad movements, and the sanctions included the Sudanese businessman Abdel Basset Hamza.
The European Union EU said in a statement that these sanctions target 3 companies described as “front companies aimed at facilitating the flow of funds” to Hamas, and are controlled by a businessman residing in Sudan who was previously sanctioned by the European Union.
Ahmed Sharif Abdullah Awda was specifically mentioned.
The individuals and companies will be subject to asset freezes under the sanctions, and the six individuals will be banned from traveling to the European Union EU.
The sanctions targeted three fronts used by Abdel Basset Hamza to transfer funds to Hamas, including the Spanish real estate company known as the Zawiya Group, and two other companies based in Sudan.
The European Union EU imposed an asset freeze on a number of companies and a visa ban on those accused of helping to finance (Hamas), and the list included six individuals, including a senior official in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, a money transfer exchange, and companies based in Spain and Sudan.
