Eight people, including women and children, were killed and 18 others were injured on Monday in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, after a drone launched by the Rapid Support RSFMilitia targeted a mosque containing a voluntary kitchen that is active in providing aid to the IDPs.
Ibrahim Al-Ghaly, a Doctor in El Fasher, said according to “Sudan Tribune”: “A drone belonging to the Rapid Support RSF Militia fired several shells at ‘Tekia’ resident of Tijaniya Mosque, killing eight civilians and wounding 18 others.”
He pointed out that the targeted site provided food on a daily basis to the remaining citizens in Tijaniya neighborhood, making it a destination for many women and children looking for food.
A number of youth initiatives in El Fasher provide food and food aid to the remaining residents of El Fasher.
Eyewitnesses told “Sudan Tribune” that the large wave of displacement of residents of the northern neighborhoods of El Fasher and Abu Shouk camp continues, towards the “Tawila” area.
